So I wanted to get away for a bit. Where did I go? Yosemite.
I flew into San Francisco Thursday night. Paul picked me up from the airport and I was off to see the city. I was able to hang out for a bit but the night had to end early. Paul had plans to get us on the road for the park early in the morning. The drive was about 3 hours or so. I got to see the windmills. I've never driven through that area before.
We arrived at the park some time in the afternoon. Our first stop was to see the giant sequoias in Mariposa Valley. This was my first big hike in some time. I warned Paul I have never really been on a hike before.
"You never walk?" "Well yeah...but not with fun shoes."
The next day was the big hike, up Nevada Falls. Not all the way to the top but up to the top of the lower falls. I made the hike up to the 1000 feet Paul said I did pretty good for a couch potato. I will be honest, I thought I was going to vomit.
At the top, looking back over the valley and watching the water crash down, I began to laugh. It's incredible to look back over and see the valley and the distance.
You can see some of my trip on my flickr page if you'd like. I can't say the photos really capture the intensity of it all. I also won't call them bad photos for once.
Enjoy. |

So I was showing a friend of mine photos from IML 2003 and I came across a photo I took of draco_kc. This was well before I know of you in LJ. I have another one from 2004 as well.
Seems we are always near by one another but never meet. |
